Ketamine

Classified as a “dissociative anesthetic”1, ketamine is commonly used in powder or liquid form as an anesthetic in animals. It can be injected, consumed in drinks, snorted, added to joints or cigarettes.Ketamine entered the US Controlled Substances List in 1999.

Short-term and long-term effects include increased heart rate and blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, numbness, depression, amnesia, hallucinations, and fatal breathing problems. You may also have cravings. At high doses, users experience an "out-of-body" or "near-death" experience called "K-Hole."

Ketamine has been used as a "rape drug" because of its detached, dream-like state that users find difficult to navigate.
Sold as a grainy white or light brown powder. Looks similar to cocaine but is a very different drug.
